El Nacional Premodern Costa Rica 2026 marca un nuevo capÃtulo para la comunidad que ha venido construyendo este formato en el paÃs con constancia, respeto por el juego y una identidad muy clara.
Este evento no es solo un torneo. Es un punto de encuentro para jugadores que valoran partidas profundas, decisiones reales y una era de Magic: The Gathering que sigue demostrando por qué Premodern es uno de los formatos más queridos por quienes lo juegan.
Después del crecimiento vivido en los últimos años, el Nacional 2026 busca consolidar ese espÃritu: mesas llenas, listas afinadas, arquetipos clásicos y nuevos enfrentándose en un ambiente competitivo pero, sobre todo, comunitario.

Formato y estructura del torneo
El Nacional Premodern Costa Rica 2026 se jugará bajo las reglas oficiales de Premodern.
El torneo contará con 6 rondas suizas, seguidas por un Top 8 para definir al campeón nacional.
Se permiten cartas con borde dorado (CE / IE / World Championship) y reimpresiones oficiales. No se permiten proxies.

09:00 a.m. – Ronda 1
12:00 m.d. – Almuerzo para jugadores
01:00 p.m. – Ronda 4
Finalizadas las rondas suizas – Top 8
Nota: El horario es una guÃa general. La organización podrá ajustar inicios de ronda según ritmo del evento para asegurar una experiencia ordenada.

El almuerzo para todos los jugadores estará incluido y será preparado por Corteza Foccaceria.
Este espacio está pensado como un momento para descansar, compartir y recargar energÃas antes de continuar con la competencia.

Las inscripciones estarán abiertas desde el 15 de enero hasta el 30 de marzo.
El registro del decklist se va a realizar en Melee del 1ro hasta el 12 de abril.

¿Qué necesito llevar el dÃa del evento?
Cada jugador debe llevar:
- Su mazo Premodern completo, listo para jugar
- Fundas nuevas o en buen estado
- Dados, contadores y tokens necesarios
- Decklist en Melee (del 1ro al 12 de abril)
¿Cuál será el tiempo por ronda?
Cada ronda suiza tendrá una duración de 50 minutos, siguiendo el estándar competitivo del formato. Las rondas de Top 8 se jugarán con tiempo extendido según criterio de la organización.
¿Cuántas rondas se jugarán?
El torneo contará con 6 rondas suizas, seguidas por un Top 8 para definir al campeón nacional.
¿Se requieren decklists?
SÃ. Todos los jugadores deberán entregar su decklist antes del inicio de la primera ronda. La organización podrá realizar revisiones aleatorias durante el evento.
¿Qué cartas están permitidas?
El evento seguirá las reglas oficiales de Premodern.
- Se permiten cartas con borde dorado (CE / IE / World Championship)
- Se permiten reimpresiones oficiales
- No se permiten proxies
¿El almuerzo está incluido?
SÃ. Todos los jugadores inscritos recibirán almuerzo incluido, preparado por Corteza Foccaceria. Este espacio está pensado como un momento de descanso entre rondas para compartir y recargar energÃas.
¿Puedo salir del venue durante el evento?
SÃ, siempre que regreses a tiempo para tu siguiente ronda. La organización no se hace responsable por retrasos causados por salidas del local.
¿Qué pasa si llego tarde?
Se aplicarán las polÃticas estándar de torneos competitivos. Retrasos pueden resultar en game loss o match loss según el tiempo transcurrido.
¿Habrá jueces?
SÃ. El evento contará con soporte de jueces para resolver dudas de reglas, llamados y situaciones durante el torneo.

The Premodern National Championship Costa Rica 2026 marks a new chapter for a community that has built this format locally with consistency, respect for the game, and a very clear identity.
This event is more than a tournament. It’s a gathering point for players who value deep gameplay, meaningful decisions, and a Magic: The Gathering era that continues to prove why Premodern remains one of the most loved formats.
After the growth we’ve experienced in recent years, the 2026 National aims to strengthen that spirit: full tables, tuned lists, classic archetypes and new ideas—competitive, but above all, community-driven.

Tournament structure & rules
The event will follow the official Premodern rules.
The tournament will run 6 Swiss rounds, followed by a cut to Top 8 to determine the National Champion.
Gold-bordered cards (CE / IE / World Championship) and official reprints are allowed. No proxies.

Prizes
The event will feature a $2,500 total prize pool, distributed across boosters and cards.
Beyond prizes, this National Championship is the highest point of the Premodern calendar in Costa Rica.

What should I bring?

How long are rounds?
Swiss rounds are 50 minutes, following the competitive standard. Top 8 rounds may use extended time at the organizer’s discretion.

Yes. Judges will be available to handle rules questions, calls, and in-game situations.
